  • Pupil Premium

The leaders and staff at St. Gregory's Catholic Primary School are dedicated to ensuring that every child flourishes, regardless of their background or circumstances. Rooted in the Catholic principle of a preferential option for the vulnerable, we use Pupil Premium funding to provide universal, targeted and tailored support that nurtures the academic, emotional, and spiritual development of all pupils, especially those who may need a little extra. We recognise the unique gifts of each child and strive to remove any barriers to learning, enabling all to achieve their full potential in a nurturing and faith-filled environment.

Pupil Premium was introduced in April 2011. In 2012, the Government extended eligibility to include pupils who have been entitled to free school meals (FSM) at any time in the previous six years.

When developing our Pupil Premium Strategy for the year, we adopt a three-tiered approach. This involves identifying priorities for whole-school improvement, providing targeted support for specific groups of pupils and their areas of need, and offering personalised assistance for individual pupils to help remove barriers to learning.

You can find our most recent Pupil Premium strategy below. It outlines key information about the Pupil Premium, including the challenges some of our Pupil Premium pupils may face, our planned use of the funding, and the strategies we have chosen to overcome these barriers. It also includes a review of last year’s spending (2023–2024).

This strategy is part of our 3-year Strategy Plan (2024 - 2027), and will be reviewed at the end of the academic year in July 2025.
